Intro: sunroof didn't work, checked 20A fuse and it was blown. Replaced fuse and still sunroof didn't want to move. Checked 'Alldata' which sugested to check for voltage at the sunroof motor on red and brown (thick wires) with ignition ON. So I checked and had 12+V at the mentioned wires. Then the next step that 'Alldata' suggested is to check for voltage at the two wires coming from the CCM and going to the sunroof motor with ignition ON and sunroof motor connected if voltage is 12V ccm should be replaced. I checked and I was getting 12V.
Then I started hunting for another ccm at the junkyard, and since my model is 2005 mk4 Jetta GLS it is very difficult to find it. After several days I found the ccm from 2000 mk4 jetta and realized that there are two different types of ccm part numbers: 1JO 959 799 AJ & 1JO 959 799 C - this is the one I needed for newer models. So in order to avoid paying $380 for the new one and risking that something else could be the problem, or risk buying used one from ebay which could have even more problems than the one I have now, I decided to try using this old ccm only for the sunroof operation and completely separate from other module networks. There are two connectors on the CCM: Light blue with 23 pins, and beige with 15 pins. I connected battery + to pin 22 (red with black), and ground to pin 23 (brown), then I connected the red with brown stripe wire from the sunroof motor to pin 8 of the ccm (brown with yellow stripe wire), and brown with white stripe wire from sunroof motor to pin 4 of the ccm with brown and green stripe wire and the motor started to spin the way it should. Now the only thing left for me is to hide this ccm and run the wires.
Hope this will help someone in the future. Click to expand.Sorry I didn't express myself correctly the old ccm is from junkyard and it is from the 2000 Jetta with gasoline engine, this jetta didn't even have a sunroof. The motor I got from 2000 passat which had one wire less going to the motor of the sunroof. So yes, I avoided coding with vag com or ross tech software which I don't have.
I felt bad buying new ccm for $380 just because of the sunroof when everything else worked normally. So yes, now I have two CCM's. CCM $12, motor $15 saved over $500 definitely when you include shipping and vag com or ross tech software. Click to expand.that is not all, I don't know if you guys know that I don't have FCM fan control module LOL, I bypassed it with 6 relays and everything works normally just more durable solution. I had problem with fcm, then I got the brand new one but some cheap brand which lasted only 10-15 days. I had to return that one to the seller, and had to figure out my own way.
I am very confident when it comes to electrical work. If you have any questions about the window maybe I can help you. One thing I learned is that Bently's electrical diagrams aren't always correct (pins numbers are OK. But wire color codes are way off).
Everseek.com has some high resolution pictures of the T7 common and rare furniture from KoS beta if you want see them with more detail: T7 Common (Beta) (and T7 Rare (Beta) (Wow! It looks like a dark brass, not a nasty earthy clay color. The Xenogite looks so much better on high rez.
What's before the CCM. Hi guys I'm having a bit of a nightmare with my central locking! I can't get it working. Can somebody tell me what feeds into the CCM. Mine is a Golf GT TDi (110bhp) 2001 model. I know the beige connector goes into the door controls etc but where does the black one go?
I have a feeling it's whatever controls the CCM. What happens with mine is I have no remote locking. My window doesn't work (all the others do off their own switch), the courtesy light comes on randomly then goes off when the car is running. Sometimes the clock resets itself as in time and trip meter (battery is all good). I can only lock my door with the button. Already done: Different CCM - Same results. Different 109 relay - Same results.
Different window control switch - Same results. Different door lock module - Same results.
Checked for corrosion but can't see any! 10amp fuses all checked. All I can think is there must me like an ECU that controls the CCM or something which could be faulty. The courtesy light comes on even when the car is stood still so it's nothing that is loose and I can't make it happen if I drive over a bumpy road. This is really bugging me and I need to get it fixed. All your help would be appreciated.
I was thinking some more about these windows, I think the complicated part must be the bus system that vag use. I mean the power and negative are straight forward but the bus system is what it uses to shove info around. I can't see why it cant use the existing bus system because you have it even for the central locking so if I can figure out which of my wires are the bus and everything is in the same place in the ccm then switching the ccm and sorting the power should theoretically work. Anyway, I'll go and look for Elsa.
Hi, I am new to this forum, I desperately need help with my MK4 Golf's central locking! Bet you have had lots of these quetions before? The remote central locking has recently stopped working, replaced batteries in fob, I have checked all fuses in usual box and the one under the steering wheel, all fine. Disconnected battery for whole day, still the same. Removed sensor in roof (interior light) for inspection and nothing obvious. Not really sure what to try next, If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. You door microswitch has gone out.
This tells the car or CCM (comfort control module) that the door is closed. The CCM will not let you lock the car with the key, and by pressing the button inside should lock all doors but the drivers. You will need to replace your door lock module.

Had this with my golf on both doors you can fix it with sum soldering BUT i just went & got sum new ones from VW £125 like but there new + newer microswitch so no problems eny more. Here is a DIY thread somewhat explaing the door lock module, and how to replace it.

Thanks for joining in, more help the better! The central locking won't work off the key, I have to lock all the doors seperately (5dr). When I press the lock button on the drivers handle when inside the car with all doors shut, only drivers side doors lock, both passenger side door pins bounce up again. I have noticed that the little red light on the drivers door lock pin does not flash anymore. I'm really struggling to work out what it can be as I have checked the usual things and am now out of ideas! Just got back from vw specialists in Norwich and had diagnostics and key re-programme for £32 including VAT. They connect up a laptop with diagnostics cable (the one that connects above the ash tray but under the stereo) it takes about 5 minutes!
All central locking now works, I am so so happy after the stress I got from this fault. I replaced the CCM unit (£34 ebay, note: it has to be the same part number as original) before the re-programme and it's all rosey now!.
